bottega veneta menswear spring summer 2012 collection & more

Mood/Style:my selection

for next season Tomas Maier, Creative Director of Bottega Veneta, starts from the idea of creating a unique item for men that could represent what dresses are for women. It’s not a
tailored tracksuits, but a new concept of an all-in-one outfit mixed to the image of a suit. The silhouette, thus, is well defined, not oversized, but with jackets that end where the pant begins, all color coordinated, even shoes. Bottega Veneta’s man is cosmopolitan, he’s not afraid to wear multicolored faded jeans, fully buttoned up shirts and bags worn by hand and not by handles. The knitwear goes from pullovers with a wide neckline, to short sleeved and with a creased effect. Fabrics are taken in an unusual way and enhanced by layers of prints, geometric patterns and patchwork inserts like for the suit in brown leather and denim. So a man that copies women for the functionality of the dress, transforming it, though, into a different dressing philosophy
Colors:
warm and sober. Dark brown, tourmaline blue, beige, brown. But also electric blue and apple green
Fabrics:
cotton twill, piquet, denim, leather, jersey
Accessories:

multipurpose bags in colored layers with deconstructed shapes so to fall softly and comfortably on the body, made with faded leather with a vintage effect. Two types of shoes: elegant but relaxed oxfords and simple sandals open around the ankle

And more : for the first time
